How we collect, use and protect your personal data under UK GDPR.

Last updated: 29 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Eravelle collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit https://eravelle.uk, buy from us or contact us. We are committed to handling your data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

1. Who we are

The data controller responsible for your personal data is Jean-Claude Bouchet, sole trader, trading as Eravelle. Eravelle is a trading name of Jean-Claude Bouchet, sole trader.

Address: 299 W Derby Rd, Liverpool L6 5EG, United Kingdom
Email: support@eravelle.uk
Phone: +44 7860076765

2. The personal data we collect

  • Identity and contact data: your name, billing and delivery address, email address and phone number.
  • Order data: the products you buy, order value, order history, delivery details and any notes you add to your order.
  • Payment data: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number or security code. We receive limited information from Stripe, such as the card type, the last four digits, the expiry date and whether the payment succeeded.
  • Account data: if you create an account, your username, password (stored in encrypted form) and account preferences.
  • Communications data: messages you send us by email, phone or our contact form, including any photos you send about a delivery or return.
  • Newsletter data: your email address and the date you gave consent, if you sign up to our newsletter.
  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type, device information and information about how you use our website, collected through server logs and cookies (see section 9).

We do not knowingly collect data from children. Our website is not intended for anyone under 18.

3. How we use your data and our lawful bases

Sending our newsletter Consent (you can withdraw it at any time)
Dealing with legal claims Legitimate interests (establishing, exercising or defending legal claims)

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only where necessary, with:

  • Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. and its group companies), which processes card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments on our behalf. Stripe also uses payment data for fraud prevention and to meet its own legal obligations, and for those purposes acts as an independent controller. See Stripe’s privacy policy at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
  • Delivery companies and couriers, which receive your name, delivery address, phone number and email address so they can deliver your order and send tracking updates.
  • Our website hosting provider (Hostinger), which stores our website and its database on our behalf.
  • Our email service provider, which sends and stores our email on our behalf.
  • Professional advisers such as our accountant, where needed for tax and accounting.
  • Authorities such as HMRC or the police, where we are required by law.

Our website runs on WordPress and WooCommerce software hosted on our own hosting account; these software projects do not receive your order data.

Where our service providers act as processors, they may only use your data on our instructions and must keep it secure.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers, such as Stripe and Google (see section 9), may process data outside the UK, for example in the European Economic Area or the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, as appropriate.

6. How long we keep your data

  • Order, payment and invoice records: 6 years from the end of the tax year of the order, to meet HMRC record-keeping requirements.
  • Customer accounts: until you ask us to delete your account. Order records are then kept for the period above.
  • Contact form messages and emails: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless they relate to an order (in which case they are kept with the order records).
  • Newsletter sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details.
  • Server logs: for a short period set by our hosting provider for security purposes.

7. How we protect your data

Our website uses SSL encryption (https). Payments are handled by Stripe, which is certified to PCI DSS Level 1. Access to customer data is restricted to Jean-Claude Bouchet and service providers who need it to provide their services, and we keep our website software up to date.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • erasure of your data, where there is no good reason for us to keep it;
  • restrict how we use your data;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;
  • data portability, to receive your data in a commonly used format; and
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example, for our newsletter).

To exercise any of these rights, email support@eravelle.uk. We may need to confirm your identity. We will respond within one month, and there is normally no charge.

9. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies set by WooCommerce and WordPress to run your basket, checkout and account (for example woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_* and WordPress login cookies). These are essential and do not need consent.
  • Stripe cookies (such as __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid), set during checkout to prevent fraud and process payments securely. These are strictly necessary for payment.

Our website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and your IP address is shared with Google. The map on our Contact Us page is provided by Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when the map loads. See Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not use advertising cookies. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the basket and checkout will not work without strictly necessary cookies.

10. Newsletter

If you sign up to our newsletter, we will use your email address to send you news about our stoves and offers. We only add you with your consent, given by ticking the consent box. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by emailing support@eravelle.uk.

11. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we use your data, please contact us first and we will try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection:
